The Expert Staff at Traditions at Reagan Park

Our days are filled with important duties and routines. Yet human connection takes precedence over the necessities of our job descriptions every time. You are why we're here.

We bring varied backgrounds and skills to our roles, but we are all here to love and support you.

Emily Goforth

Community Relations Director: Emily Goforth

Emily holds a BA in Psychology from Franklin College, has experience working with adults and children with special needs and as a Social Worker in a skilled nursing community.

Emily believes that each resident who has moved to Reagan Park over the years has a story and she can recall so many. "I have so many touching moments with my residents and their families, but one that stands out is a gentleman who was looking for Memory Care options for his wife since he was her caregiver at home. After many visits and conversations, he made the decision to move to Reagan Park with his wife. We worked through all of the emotions and decisions that come with that kind of transition and he was very happy he could stay with his wife in a wonderful place. We truly open our hearts to everyone who comes through our doors." Emily was recently married (her husband is a hospice nurse) and is proud to have two stepchildren, Ava and Carter.

Dr. Regina Smith

Memory Care Director: Dr. Regina Smith

With over 30 years of experience in the medical and social work fields, Dr. Regina Smith is a pillar of support within her community. Beginning her career as a medical assistant, Regina seamlessly transitioned into geriatric social work, where she has made a profound impact over the past 15 years. Her passion for helping older adults and their families navigate the complexities of aging has earned her a reputation as a compassionate and skilled social worker.

Regina’s dedication to education is an inspiration. As an adult learner, she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Social Work degrees from Indiana University, and in the Spring of 2024, she proudly completed her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from Simmons University. Regina was also honored to be named a Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program Fellow (GWEP), further solidifying her expertise in geriatric care.

In her current role as Memory Care Director, Regina excels in dementia care, grief and end-of-life counseling, long-term care management, and case management. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she is deeply involved in several organizations. She serves on the board of Meals on Wheels, is a committee member of the Indiana Geriatric Society, and holds a leadership position with the Council of State Affiliate Representatives (COSAR).

Regina’s dedication to her field is matched by her commitment to supporting caregivers. She co-facilitates The Daughterhood, an online support and education group for caregivers, where she provides guidance and community to those navigating the challenges of caring for loved ones.

When she’s not advocating for change or working in the field, Regina enjoys spending time with her husband of 40 years and their two daughters and grandchildren. You can often find her with a great book in hand, soaking up the sun at the beach.
